About me as a counsellor…
Life can feel overwhelming at times, leaving us stuck in the same patterns and unsure how to break free. But you don't have to navigate it alone.
Tara is a counsellor who offers a safe and inviting space in Avoca Beach on the Central Coast to explore these challenges in a non-judgmental way.
Tara believes that each client should be treated individually with a holistic approach that is tailored to the client’s needs, wants and overall therapeutic goal to sustain a fulfilling life. Whilst still understating you are part of a larger family system which began generations before you.
Tara works with clients to promote and support personal growth through utilising interpersonal frameworks, bringing awareness to one’s emotions, behaviours and triggers. Throughout this process, Tara can support you to work on attachment styles, communication styles, thinking patterns and coping skills.
Tara currently works in private practice and in High School settings delivering and facilitating programs on consent and healthy relationships. Tara is experienced in working with therapy modalities such as person-centred therapy, resource therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness based therapy, motivational interviewing, solution-focused therapy and psycho-education.
Tara has completed her advanced diploma in Counselling and has completed clinical resource therapy training. Tara is registered as a certified practising therapist through The Australian Counselling Association (ACA).
Tara is passionate about working with individuals from all ages, but has a deep pull for working with young adults as a therapist and teen mentor.
